Over $210,000 to support the Board of Education’s efforts within the schools

These requests included computer cases, carts of Chromebooks, iPads, mobile hotspots with service, and a robot for home/hospital distance learning.

In 2020 WCEF gave $45,000 towards hotspots with service for students who could not participate in virtual learning due to lack of internet access at home.

Over $22,000 directly to teachers through the annual Teacher Grant program

These grants provide teachers and staff the ability to bring innovative and creative teaching materials and opportunities to maximize learning potential to Worcester County schools and classrooms. To date, this has directly impacted over 7,600 students.

The WCEF was integral in helping expand our drone after-school program. Engaging in drones at the middle school level allowed us to engage in the basics of aeronautics, coding, and flight simulation activities. Our kids have never been so engaged!

Brian Cook,

Pocomoke Middle School

We started with a simple idea of using robots to help reluctant math students.  We ended up with enthusiastic math students who wanted more opportunities.

Nancy Stearns,

Berlin Intermediate School

The grant money I received for Stephen Decatur Middle was for our weekly student video announcements, Bulldog News. We used the money to purchase new lavalier microphones and microphone flags. The funds were invaluable and I’m really grateful we got them.
